Contra Costa College has partanered with
Single Stop USA, a non-profit organization set out to reduce povery
in the U.S. The Single Stop Program at the college was established
to help students remove financial barriers to achieving their
academic and career goals. The program offers free and confidential
benefits screening, including CalWORKs, CalFresh (Foodstamps),
Medi-CAL, and PG&E discounts. Financial coaching is offered on
credit repair, budget management/planning, identify theft/fraud, and
establishing checking and savings accounts. Single Stop also offers
free referral to services including social security, disability,
child care, and housing/shelter, and tax preparation assistance.
