The NEW program at Shasta College is designed to attract more
females into nontraditional training programs. Recruitment efforts
are targeted to the feeder high schools. College counselors and
currently enrolled female nontraditional students conduct outreach
and on-campus activities with potential female enrollees. The
program also garners the support of the instructors in the areas for
which are recruiting. The efforts have resulted in increased
nontraditional enrollment.
