Foster Care Individuals

Chafee College, Foster Youth Support

Chafee College provides eligible California youth aging out of foster care with financial assistance to attend a postsecondary institution and be enrolled in an eligible program. Students may be eligible to receive up to $5,000 per year if they are enrolled in a minimum of 6 units and maintaining satisfactory academic progress (SAP).

The college sets up workshops in the Financial Aid Lab to assist students with: FAFSA applications, Chafee applications, Salle Mae Debit Mastercards, School or address changes for Cal Grants, SAP appeals, connection to other campus resources, and more. The Foster Youth Workshops are by appointment only. They are set up by calling 310.660.3493.
