The Sierra STEM Collaborative focuses on strengthening
connections between secondary and postsecondary educators to
encourage more STEM enrollment. It focuses on the career pathways of
manufacturing & product development, and engineering & design.
Project based learning is emphasized in these areas. The
collaborative funds faculty and teacher externships with industry
partners and provides professional development opportunities to
improve technical skills and knowledge. For feeder middle and high
schools, the collaborative provides career exploration software to
promote STEM education and careers, disseminates career and college
information through printed resources and presentations, and hosts
tours of the college’s STEM programs.
